A Child With Epilepsy……..A Mother With A Vision
Carrie Miller is a mother to 3 children - her middle child, Emmalyn, having been diagnosed with uncontrolled epilepsy. After seeing the effects of epilepsy on her child and family, Mrs. Miller had a vision to hold a major fundraising event for the Epilepsy Foundation of Virginia. Her goal was to raise funds to be used to further epilepsy education and awareness.
After many months of hard work and planning, Mrs. Miller’s vision came to fruition on September 21, 2007. Not only was ”The Emmalyn Miller Event” held - but it was a huge success, raising over $13,000.00 for the Epilepsy Foundation of Virginia! A wonderful time was had by all in attendance - it was a lovely evening with a cocktail hour (including a magician), a sit-down dinner, many silent auction items, live music, and dancing.
Mrs. Miller has asked for additional assistance from friends and family for this year’s event, in the hope that even more people will attend and more money can be raised for the Epilepsy Foundation of Virginia. We sincerely hope that you will consider attending and/or contributing to this year’s event!
