The Emmalyn Miller Event

The 2008 Event is quickly approaching!!  Please join us this Friday, September 12, 2008 for the 2008 Emmalyn Miller Event!

The Event will be held at Farmington Country Club.  The evening will begin at 6:30 p.m. with a cocktail hour and a silent auction.  Dinner will be served at 7:30 pm, and a live band, Kendra & The Kingpins, will follow with music and dancing.

Dinner options this year are chicken in a white wine butter sauce that is served with rice pilaf and vegetables, and vegetarian option which is penne pasta with spinach, basil, cherry tomatoes, feta cheese and pine nuts.

No paper tickets will be mailed; a guest list will be kept at the door.  For this reason, you must purchase your tickets in advance.  Please do so today by clicking the following link:

Bracelets:

Beginning on August 1st, Gold’s Gym will be selling bracelets which were specially designed by Daniel Harper (General Manager at Gold’s Gym in Charlottesville) to promote awareness for epilepsy and The Emmalyn Miller Event.  The bracelets are pictured above, being worn by Daniel and Emmalyn, and will sell for $5.00 each.  All proceeds will go directly to the 2008 Emmalyn Miller Event, which benefits the Epilepsy Foundation of Virginia.  ANYONE AND EVERYONE, MEMBER OR NOT, can purchase the bracelets.  Donations are also accepted at the gym in five-dollar increments.   Contact Daniel Harper for more information at (434) 973-1307.

Push-ups for Emmalyn:

Gold’s Gym is challenging the Charlottesville area to do 25,000 push-ups (collectively) in the month of August.  If the area can come together and do a total of 25,000 push-ups, Gold’s Gym will make an additional donation to the event.  Again, this is not limited only to Gold’s Gym members, it is open to the public so tell your friends, neighbors, and family about the challenge! 

Challenge Rules:

• One person can come in for as many as 3 sittings
• You can do the push-ups on your knees
• You must have a staff member there to count your push-ups

So remember to stop by Gold’s Gym,

buy a bracelet, 

and say, “I’m here to do push-ups for Emmalyn!”
